Villavecchia – Barbera d’Asti DOCG
Villavecchia – Barbera d’Asti DOCG
Barbera d'Asti has an intense ruby red color, that is clear and quite consistent.  To the smell it is intense and good complexity with notes of macerated red fruit, cherry, small fruits. In the mouth it is structured, soft, of good finesse and elegance: pleasant and long in the finish.  The grapes are harvested at the end of September in two vineyards with over 30 years of life and with a very low yield per hectare.  The vinification takes place in the latest generation horizontal ferments with maceration of about 6 days at a temperature of about 28 Celsius.  The aging last 1 year; the first part in large 30 hl wooden barrels and then in a bottle.
  • Varietal: 100% Barbera
  • Color: Red Ruby Red.
  • On the Nose: Notes of macerated red fruit, cherry, small fruits.
  • Palate: Structured, soft, of good finesse and elegance: pleasant and long in the finish.
  • Serving Suggestions: Red meat dishes, with braised meat, with game, with roasts and pork.
